Ann S. Isobe is a cherished associate of Coates Frey Tanimoto & Gibson, AAL LLLC. She is well versed in all matters of family law litigation including divorce, custody, post-decree enforcement, paternity, guardianships, and adoptions. Her impressive experience and formal training in mediation and collaborative divorce help her achieve impressive and favorable results for her clients.
Outside of our practice, Ann contributes in many ways to the community. She is a facilitator for the Kid’s First Program First Circuit Court. She also serves as Volunteer Settlement Master in paternity matters for the First Circuit Family Court. Ann is a member of the Honolulu Japenese Chamber of Commerce. Previously, she was also member and director of the Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce.
When Ann isn’t providing legal services, she enjoys teaching and sharing her legal knowledge to empower others. She is an instructor at Kapi’olani Community College where she teaches the family law paralegal program. Additionally, she has been an NBI Speaker on family law and a contributing author to Hawaii Ni Sumu, a publication about divorces in Japan.She provides regular volunteer and pro bono services to the court and other NGO agencies in Family Law matters.
Ann is an alumna of George Washington University and McGeorge School of Law where she earned her B.A. and J.D., respectively. After graduating, she went on to become a member of the state bar of Hawaii, California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 9th circuit.
She has been a per diem Judge of the District Court of the First Circuit State of Hawaii since September 4th, 2018.
